The Greater Helena MPO is in the process of developing several planning documents that will guide the operation and future activities of the organization. Below are the current planning efforts.
A MPO Public Participation Plan (PPP) is a document that outlines how an MPO will involve the public in the transportation planning process. It establishes policies and procedures for public engagement, ensuring that citizens, affected agencies, and other stakeholders have opportunities to provide input on transportation plans, programs, and projects. The MPO will adopt a Public Participation Plan prior to starting any other planning efforts.
Long Range Transportation Plan
A MPO Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a comprehensive, federally mandated document that outlines a region's transportation vision for the next 20 years or more. It's a roadmap for how the region will address its transportation needs, including all modes of travel, and how it will achieve its economic development, transportation, and sustainability goals. The Greater Helena MPO will begin the LRTP process in the fall of 2025.
