• WELCOME: This website has been created to facilitate public input and provide information about the LRTP.  We invite you to explore the website, provide your comments, and ask any questions you may have regarding the plan.
• Schedule: Initial planning efforts kicked off in May with the LRTP officially kicking off in June 2025.  The plan is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
• Public Involvement: There we be several involvement opportunities throughout the planning horizon, and community members are encouraged to submit feedback at any time.  Our Public Participation Plan (PPP)(PDF, 3MB) is designed to promote effective engagement and transparency through all of Greater Helena MPO's transportation planning efforts.  Check out the PPP to learn more!
• Public Outreach #1: Throughout the month of October, the MPO hosted two in-person open houses and a month-long virtual open house. the in-person events were well attended and the virtual open house garnered valuable feedback. Though the first outreach effort has concluded, you may still view materials here.
• Public Outreach #2: In February and March 2026, the MPO hosted in-person and virtual open houses to share key findings related to safety, transit, and managing growth and to solicit feedback on key priorities as the planning effort moves into the recommendations phase.  Though the effort has concluded, you may still view materials here.
• Public Outreach #3: The MPO is hosting a series of public events for the next phase in the LRTP to share proposed recommendations and solicitate feedback from the public to help identify funding priorities.
  
  The planning team will be at the Helena and East Helena Farmers Markets in early August to share information about the plan.  There will also be two open houses which will feature more detailed displays and maps for review.  Community members are encouraged to participate at their convenience.
